The 2016 Summer Olympics (Portuguese: Jogos Olímpicos de Verão de 2016), will be held this year in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from the 5th to 21st of August 2016.
Rio de Janeiro, or simply Rio, is the second-largest city in Brazil with a population of 12,090,607 (Metro Area). Rio de Janeiro is Brazil’s primary tourist attraction and resort. It receives the most visitors per year of any city in South America with 2.82 million international tourists a year. The city sports world-class hotels, approximately 80 kilometres of beaches and the famous Corcovado, Sugarloaf mountains and of course the world famous Rio Carnival!
