It’s no wonder Stein am Rhein attracts visitors from all over the world who come to explore its rich history and culture. Visitors to Stein am Rhein should make sure to bring their cameras as there are many opportunities to capture stunning photographs! The old town center is especially photogenic with its preserved medieval architecture. The colorful half-timbered buildings, elaborately painted facades, and cobblestone streets make for some truly unique photos. There are also plenty of sights along the Rhine River including peaceful gardens, ancient castles, and centuries-old churches that all offer incredible photo ops. Local Cuisine: Traditional Swiss Dishes

Stein am Rhein, Switzerland is a charming medieval town that’s full of attractions and quaint shops. It’s also an excellent spot to sample some of the local Swiss cuisine. From delicious cheese dishes to hearty potato-based meals, there are plenty of traditional dishes to try while in Stein am Rhein.

One specialty dish is Zürcher Geschnetzeltes which translates to “Zurich-style sliced meat” and consists of veal or beef cut into thin strips and served with mushrooms, onions and a creamy white wine sauce. Another classic favorite is Älplermakkaronen which contains macaroni noodles smothered in cheese and topped with fried onions and bits of bacon.

How to get to Stein am Rhein

Stein am Rhein is a beautiful and historical town in Switzerland that offers something for everyone. From its picturesque sights to its rich cultural heritage, it is a must-see destination for anyone visiting the country. Getting to Stein am Rhein is relatively easy and there are several ways to do so.

The most convenient way to reach Stein am Rhein is by car or train. If you have your own vehicle, you can drive directly there from nearby cities like Zurich or Basel in around an hour and a half. From Schaffhausen its much closer. Alternatively, you can take the train from Zurich into Stein am Rhein with one transfer along the way; this takes around two hours and thirty minutes in total. There are also buses available if preferred, but these tend to be slower than both of the other options. Also consider to visit the Rheinfall near Schaffhausen that is not that far away!
