Piazza del Campo is one of the most iconic tourist attractions in Siena, Italy. Located at the heart of the city, this beautiful square was created in 1349 and remains to this day a major symbol of Italian culture. The piazza is divided into nine sections that represent each district in Siena, with striking white stone paving and numerous fountains creating an architectural masterpiece. Visitors can admire the stunning architecture as well as relax on the spacious terrace which offers magnificent views across the city’s red-tiled rooftops.

The Piazza del Campo also hosts a number of events throughout the year including Il Palio di Siena, an annual horse race held twice each summer.

Siena Cathedral

Siena Cathedral, located in the center of the city of Siena, Italy, is one of the most awe-inspiring tourist attractions in all of Europe. The grand and ornate structure was built between 1215-1348 and is a masterpiece of Italian Romanesque-Gothic architecture. This stunning cathedral features some of the finest marble carvings, sculptures and frescoes from renowned Italian artists such as Michelangelo and Pisano.

The exterior walls are decorated with intricate designs while inside visitors can explore four separate chapels, each boasting its own unique style. The interior also displays beautiful stained glass windows depicting religious scenes; an impressive library full of ancient texts; and an intricately carved pulpit which was completed by Nicola Pisano in 1268.
