Here is another fantastic site to visit also on the UNESCO World Heritage List, as so many other great places in Italy. Cinque Terre, which means Five Lands, comprise the five small coastal villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso all part of the Cinque Terre National Park located in the Italian region of Liguria a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. Best way to get there is by train from La Spezia or from Genova. The Cinque Terre boasts some of the best coastline hiking trails in the world but be warned some of them are closed because of some landslides. See this Wikitravel page here for some more information of the trails and the region in general.
