Sight #1: Christ the Redeemer

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has long been known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. Every year on New Year’s Eve, tourists from around the world flock to Copacabana beach to witness one of its most iconic celebrations. This unique event is a sight not to be missed.

The celebration at Copacabana beach starts early in the evening with live music, dancing and food vendors setting up stalls along the beachfront. Large crowds gather as the night progresses towards midnight when fireworks light up the sky above Rio’s skyline in a dazzling display of color and sound. Local tradition dictates that people wear white garments to bring good luck in the coming year while they watch brightly colored paper lanterns being set off into the sky above them.

On a personal note: Rio is one of my favorite cities and certainly on top of my list, I visited many times and its hard to find any place in the world as beautiful as this city and believe me I taveled allot to many countries and cities around the world.
