Sight #1: Christ the Redeemer

Standing at 98 feet tall and with arms spread wide, Christ the Redeemer is an awe-inspiring symbol of Christianity all over the world as well as a powerful symbol of peace.

Once atop the mountain, visitors can explore many walking trails to take in the breathtaking views of Copacabana beach from one side and Botafogo beach from another. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil has long been known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture. Every year on New Year’s Eve, tourists from around the world flock to Copacabana beach to witness one of its most iconic celebrations. This unique event is a sight not to be missed.
The celebration at Copacabana beach starts early in the evening with live music, dancing and food vendors setting up stalls along the beachfront. Large crowds gather as the night progresses towards midnight when fireworks light up the sky above Rio’s skyline in a dazzling display of color and sound. Local tradition dictates that people wear white garments to bring good luck in the coming year while they watch brightly colored paper lanterns being set off into the sky above them.
On a personal note: Rio is one of my favorite cities and certainly on top of my list, I visited many times and its hard to find any place in the world as beautiful as this city and believe me I taveled allot to many countries and cities around the world. Visitors can take a tour of Maracan Stadium where they will learn more about its history, architecture and statues commemorating past champions at this incredible venue.
Rio de Janeiro Getting around and security
Rio de Janeiro, the city of sun and sea, is one of the most vibrant and beautiful cities in the world. But before you can go sightseeing around the city, it’s important to learn how to get around safely. public transport is a great way to explore Rio – buses are frequent and affordable, while taxis are always an option and if you dont know the area ask in your Hotel for personal tours or group tours. For those looking for a more adventurous journey, there are also bike rental places all over town. And with so many sights to see in Rio de Janeiro, it’s worth investing in a tourist pass that allows you to use different modes of transport with ease. When it comes to safety however, it pays to be aware – avoid wearing flashy jewellery or carrying large amounts of cash and stay away from certain areas at night.
